26 New Coraline Posters?!?
Yup, that’s right, 26 new posters have started and continue to spring up online. There’s one for each letter of the alphabet, with a slew of internet movie sites each getting an exclusive poster featuring the letter that corresponds to the first letter of their site name. Ain’t It Cool News, Collider (I wonder what gave them precedence over say, CHUD or Cinematical?), Dread Central, IGN, Latino Review, MTV Splash Page, Obsessed With Film, Rotten Tomatoes, and UGO are just some of the sites you can see these images at. All of the posters are branded with a “Be careful what you wish for” tagline and have a rhyming couplet centered around what each letter stands for. It can be a bit tedious for completionists who want to see all of the posters, but I’m digging this marketing campaign. And all of it is to hype the launch of the new website, which is pretty cool and expansive and definitely worth a look. The film is directed by Henry Selick (The Nightmare Before Christmas) and based on Neil Gaiman’s book of the same name. The gorgeously animated stop-motion film opens in 3D on February 9, 2009. (And yes, this post is cinema, verytasty’s audition to be considered for the letter “C” the next time something like this comes around. Hell, let’s face it, we’d be cool with any letter)
