Adam Shankman Sets Sail With Sinbad
Adam Shankman’s really parleyed his directing gigs from modest genre projects into potential tentpoles. Coming from doing films like The Wedding Planner and A Walk To Remember, Shankman moved up to bigger projects like last year’s Hairspray and the upcoming Adam Sandler family comedy Bedtime Stories. Now he’s signed on for his biggest project yet–The 8th Voyage of Sinbad. The film centers on Sinbad and his crew who embark on a quest to find the Lamp of Aladdin after being marooned off the coast of China. In their journeys they meet a beautiful empress and face off with fantastical creatures and a rebellious Chinese general who threatens the kingdom. The film is a potential tentpole fantasy epic, though no cast has been announced yet. Fun fact: Adam Shankman directed Prop. 8 – The Musical, which sprang up online a few weeks back.
