Adam Sandler To Appear In The Green Hornet?

adamsandler01The Green Hornet was all but dead a couple days ago. Now, not only is it alive and well, but big name stars are signing on for guest appearances, too! Treat this as a rumor for now, but we’re hearing that Adam Sandler has a brief but key role in the upcoming flick as a “surprise superhero.” Common speculation suggests The Lone Ranger, who was revealed to be The Green Hornet’s grand uncle on the radio show, but there are some holes in that theory. First, if you want to get technical with semantics, The Lone Ranger isn’t a superhero (that’s a bit thin, I know). But the more obvious obstacle is the fact that Disney has an active deal with the company that owns the Lone Ranger’s rights to make a Lone Ranger movie, with Johnny Depp starring as Tonto and Jerry Bruckheimer producing. I don’t see them willingly allowing Columbia, the company producing The Green Hornet, to run wild with one of their big 2010 tentpole properties. But then again, stranger things have happened, so who knows?
