Casting Bites: Ashton Kutcher, Paul Rudd & Owen Wilson
Some high profile casting bites for today!
Ashton Kutcher has found himself a family comedy to tackle. He’s in final negotiations to appear in Traded, a football comedy about a superstar NFL quarterback and a twelve year-old middle school geek whose bodies are magically swapped. Important lessons in courage and humility and hugging puppies ensue. David Stern and David Weiss, the writing team behind Fox’s upcoming comedy They Came From Upstairs, wrote the screenplay. I could bash on this project, but why? I like Kutcher and families need to have fun, too.
James L. Brooks’ next project just got a little more clear. Paul Rudd and Owen Wilson are in negotiations to star in the film, which Reese Witherspoon is already attached to be in as well. The plot centers on a love triangle between a white-collar executive (Rudd), a major league baseball pitcher (Wilson) and Witherspoon’s character. Other details are vague, but the film’s title has been revealed as How Do You Know? This I’m genuinely excited for. Brooks puts out quality stuff most of the time, and it’s been too long since his last film (2004’s Spanglish). It doesn’t hurt that I love this cast, too. What do you guys think?
