THR reports that Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes will join the cast of Louis Leterrier’s Clash of the Titans.

Titans in their own right, the Schindler’s List co-stars will be reuniting on screen while filling some big shoes. Neeson will play Zeus, king of the gods and ruler of Olympus, and Fiennes will play Hades, king of the dead and ruler of the underworld. The two join a cast that already includes Sam Worthington, Mads Mikkelsen, Gemma Arterton, and Alexa Davalos.

This project just shot up the charts in terms of interest factor. I’d pay 10 bucks just to see Liam and Ralph go at it, and that they’ll be playing warring gods while doing so only compounds the excitement. That said, they do seem to be filling characters that will be essential plot-wise but ancillary screen time-wise (unless Louie Let decides it’d be much cooler to just base the movie around the two of them – which, let’s be honest, it would), so I’m not sure how much mano-a-mano action we’ll get between the two.

Still, awesome casting regardless. Check out the full Hollywood Reporter article here.
