Get Him To The Greek Gets Three
The pseudo-sequel to Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him to the Greek, just got a supporting cast. Mad Men’s Elisabeth Moss, rapper/record executive Sean Combs, and Damages‘ Rose Byrne have joined the project, which continues the misadventures of Russell Brand’s Aldous Snow character from Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Jonah Hill will rejoin him, though he’ll play a different character than the fanboy hotel employee fromĀ Sarah Marshall. Nicholas Stoller will return as director.
The script, which Stoller also wrote, follows a just-out-of-college insurance adjuster (Hill) who is assigned the unenviable task of getting the fallen-off-the-wagon Snow from London to a show in L.A. at the Greek Theater. Hookers, cocaine, and other rockstar shenanigans stand in the way. Moss will play the female lead — Hill’s repressed girlfriend who is a wardrobe assistant on a high school musical TV show. Combs will play Hill’s boss while Byrne will play Brand’s ex-wife, a Courtney Love-esque rocker. All in all, an intriguing bunch. Combs’ acting talents remain dubious in my book, but he could definitely work in a comedy like this. Both Moss and Byrne have done admirable dramatic work in the past, so it’ll be fun to see them let loose a bit.
What’re your thoughts on this project?
