Quick Hits & Snack Bits For 5/28/09
Kevin Smith’s A Couple of Dicks has picked up a few more cast members. Joining Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan will be Seann William Scott, Adam Brody, and Ana de la Reguera (best known for her portrayal of Sister Encarnacion in Nacho Libre). Scott will play a criminal known as the Shit Bandit for the souvenirs he leaves during his robberies, Brody will play a detective unhappy to be working with Willis and Morgan, and de la Reguera will play a Mexican beauty that may hold the key to millions of laundered drug money.
Steven Spielberg’s half of Tintin, subtitled The Secret of the Unicorn, will hit theaters on Decemer 23, 2011 in 3-D!
Mickey Rourke had the following to say about filming Iron Man 2, where he plays Whiplash (with hints of the Crimson Dynamo): “”I’m having the time of my life! It’s been really brutal, because my Iron Man suit weighs 23lb. It’s sort of a half-suit, with half my skin showing, with lots of Russian tattoos, because [Whiplash is just] out of a Russian-zone prison.” Check out the full article (with some more Iron Man 2 tidbits from director Jon Favreau) over at Empire.
Prison Break star Wentworth Miller hinted via his Twitter account that he may be up for a role in Bioshock. Or he could just be looking forward to playing the game. It’s a bit unclear, especially since last we heard, the Bioshock movie was on hold due to budget concerns. His exact words were “Prison Break may be ending, but I’ve got things in the works. Hint…one word: Bioshock.” so take from that what you will.
Orange County and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story director Jake Kasdan has been tapped to direct Bad Teacher, the 2008 Black Listed screenplay by Year One and the forthcoming Ghostbusters reboot writers Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg. The story follows a foul-mouthed seventh-grade teacher who gets dumped by her sugar daddy and gets into a bitter rivalry with her goody-two-shoes colleague. I like Kasdan, and hopefully more people will show up to this than the not-terrible Walk Hard.
A trailer has been released for A Perfect Getaway, the upcoming thriller starring Steve Zahn, Milla Jovovich, Timothy Olyphant, Marley Shelton, and Chris Hemsworth. Looks a little familiar, but it’s always fun to watch Jovovich kick ass. Check it out below:
And this one’s just ridiculous: Amy Ephron, sister of Nora and Delia, is developing a TV show based on Twitter, which features “ordinary people competing while on the trail of celebrities.” Shouldn’t there be a guy at every network/studio whose only job is to say “Okay no, this is where we draw the line,”?
