THE LAST AIRBENDER Teaser Trailer
The official teaser trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender has hit the internet. Check it out:
Comprised of two elegant long-takes, this definitely hints at some promising things to come. While the early images we saw looked kind of campy, it looks like the filmmaking behind them is still top notch. ILM is definitely earning its paycheck with some gorgeous-looking effects work here, with the last shot widening out to reveal the Fire Nation ships in full armada mode, launching fireballs at the air temple. One nitpicky detail is that the air temple isn’t floating like it is in the original Nickelodeon series, but then again we can’t expect a filmmaker like Shyamalan not take some creative liberties.
This definitely restores a little more faith in how the movie could turn out. Can’t wait for a full trailer! The Last Airbender is aiming for a July 2, 2010 release.
