Cinematical has debuted two exclusive posters. The first is a teaser poster for Paul Weitz’s Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant, starring Chris Massoglia, John C. Reilly, Willem Dafoe, Salma Hayek, Ken Watanabe, Patrick Fugit, and Josh Hutcherson. The story is based on Darren Shan’s young adult Cirque Du Freak book series (aka The Saga of Darren Shan), though it only draws from the first three parts (the so-called “Vampire-Blood Trilogy”) of the twelve-part series. The story centers on a young teen (Massoglia) who unwittingly breaks a 200-year truce between two warring factions of vampires, and then gets sucked into a world of misunderstood sideshow freaks and creatures as an assistant to a vampire (Reilly). The next is a poster for The Open Road, an indie flick starring Justin Timberlake, Jeff Bridges, Kate Mara, and Mary Steenburgen. Timberlake plays a minor-league pitcher who goes on a road trip with his girlfriend (Mara) to bring his estranged father (Bridges) to the bedside of his dying mother (Steenburgen). Sherlock Holmes is due in theaters on Christmas Day; Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant will open on October 23rd; and The Open Road will be on screens in just a few short weeks, on August 28th.
