Casting Bites: Frank Langella Eyes WALL STREET 2, Edward James Olmos Joins THE GREEN HORNET
Two veteran actors may be joining some big upcoming movies.
First up, Frost/Nixon’s Frank Langella is in talks to join Oliver Stone’s Wall Street sequel Money Never Sleeps. The Oscar-nominated actor would play Lewis Zabel, an old-time broker who is a mentor to Shia LaBeouf’s character. If you’ve been keeping up with our plot summaries to the movie, you’ll know the pivotal role he plays in the film. Langella would join LaBeouf, Michael Douglas, and possibly the (as-yet) unconfirmed Josh Brolin and Carey Mulligan in the cast. For such a rushed production (slated to shoot this month for a First Quarter release next year), they certainly are drawing some big names.
Next, Hollywood Snitch has the exclusive scoop that Battlestar Galactica actor Edward James Olmos will be joining Michel Gondry’s The Green Hornet, though it’s unclear what role he would play. He spoke to Hollywood Snitch at Wizard World Chicago Comic-Con, and said, “I’m on my way to do The Green Hornet. It’ll be a lot of fun with Seth [Rogen], Nicolas Cage and Cameron Diaz.” Olmos was a beloved part of the fan-favorite and critically-adored BSG, so I’m sure there will be lots of people happy with his involvement here. Any fans of the original series out there with some thoughts on which character he could play?
