Bridges is really one of the most talented actors we have. This isn’t quite the same story as the 2008 Oscar race, where Mickey Rourke revived his once-promising career with the performance of a lifetime; Bridges has been consistently good throughout his career and was Oscar-nominated four times for his efforts, so it’s more him being on his A-game than a resurrection. Still, a statue would be a fitting reward for over two decades of memorable performances, and Bridges looks to have turned in a mighty powerful one here. He pulls double duty by also supplying some vocals for the soundtrack, which country crooner T Bone Burnett contributed some original music to and co-produced.

There’s been a lot going on this week in the QH&SB realm of news! A few current projects undergo some changes, and a host of new projects get underway.
First up is James Mangold’s Wichita, starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. The film has changed it’s rather ambiguous title to the still pretty ho-hum Knight & Day. Peter Sarsgaard, Viola Davis, Olivier Martinez, Paul Dano, Maggie Grace and Mark Blucas also co-star. [via Variety]
The Tourist, which was set to star Cruise at one point, has shuffled its female lead. Charlize Theron has vacated the role and Angelina Jolie has stepped in. Sam Worthington has already been announced as the lead. [via THR's Risky Biz Blog]

We’ve already gotten a hint of the eye-popping visuals to expect from Imaginarium with the U.K. trailer that was released a couple of months ago, and the domestic trailer certainly reinforces that. The early word out of festivals has been that this is a return to form for Gilliam, with many of the themes from the director’s early, best works reasserting themselves here. Personally, I think it looks like Gilliam just let his imagination run wild here, and I can’t wait to see what he’s got in store for us this time.
