Latest DESPICABLE ME Teaser Promises Supervillain Hijinks, Antics by Roy on 5 Nov 2009 | Comments A new teaser has arrived for Despicable Me, an animated comedy featuring Steve Carell as the world’s #2 supervillain, Gru.


The first teaser for Despicable Me was amusing enough, but didn’t entirely enlighten us as to its plot. The second teaser sheds a bit more light, but it’s still fairly vague when it comes to story. It paints the story as if Gru is on a mission to unseat Vector, the apparent #1 supervillain in the world. However, according to the official synopsis, the film actually follows Gru on a mission to steal the moon, a mission that gets interrupted when he runs into 3 orphaned girls and they see in him something no one else has ever seen: a potential Dad.

Joining him are the voice talents of Will Arnett, Jason Segel, Kristen Wiig, Danny McBride, Jermaine Clement, Russell Brand, Jack McBrayer, and Julie Andrews – all very funny people (catch Andrews in Victor/Victoria if you don’t believe me). The story follows Carell’s character Groo, who conceives a plot to steal the moon. His plan runs into trouble when three orphan girls come under his care and refuse to leave.
