Will audiences turn up for an Iraq War movie? History would say no, but The Hurt Locker did well in the specialty market earlier this year and none of the previous war films that tanked had Matt Damon and his Bourne director. Also starring Amy Ryan, Brendan Gleeson, Greg Kinnear, Jason Isaacs, Antoni Corone, and Nicoye Banks, Green Zone hits theaters on March 12, 2010. Hit the jump to see the trailer from Yahoo!

Collider.com has an article on Universal Pictures’ 2009 preview, which has some new images and synopses for a whole bunch of films. They include Vince Vaughan-John Favreau comedy Couples Retreat; The Boat That Rocked, the latest from Love Actually-director Richard Curtis and starring Philip Seymour Hoffman; the Michael Mann-directed Public Enemies with Christian Bale and Johnny Depp; Fast & Furious, the fourth installment of the franchise that reunites Paul Walker and Vin Diesel; Russell Crowe’s next political thriller State of Play; the Clive Owen-Julia Roberts caper Duplicity; neice-of-Julia Emma Roberts’ latest comedy Wild Child; the highly-anticipated relaunch of Wolfman, starring Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, and Emily Blunt; Funny People, Judd Apatow’s latest collaboration with Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen; Cirque Du Freak, Paul Weitz’s fantasy adventure featuring warring vampire factions with John C. Reilly and Ken Watanabe; the Will Ferrell-Danny McBride remake of Land of the Lost; Sam Raimi’s new horror flick Drag Me To Hell, with Alison Lohman; and another Paul Greengrass project with Matt Damon called Green Zone.

Check out some images below. We’ll start with the ones from projects we’ve talked about recently, and then move on to the newer stuff.

A still we’ve seen before from Couples Retreat, with Vince Vaughn, Jason Bateman, and Jon Favreau, as well as Kristen Bell, Malin Ackerman, Faizon Love, Kristin Davis, Jean Reno, and John Michael Higgins. The release date has yet to be announced.

Philip Seymour Hoffman in Richard Curtis’ The Boat That Rocked, which also features frequent Curtis collaborators Bill Nighy and Emma Thompson, as well as Kenneth Branagh, Nick Frost, Flight of the Conchords’s Rhys Darby, Quantum of Solace’s Gemma Arterton, Mad Men’s January Jones, Pirate of the Carribean’s Jack Davenport, and Elizabeth: The Golden Age’s Rhys Ifans. The film follows a group of rogue DJ’s in the 1960’s that commandeer the British radio airwaves from their boat in the North Sea. Check out the trailer for the film here, which does not have a North American release date yet.

Again, another image we’ve already seen from Michael Mann’s highly-anticipated Public Enemies, with Johnny Depp (pictured here as notorious gangster John Dillinger) and Christian Bale. This opens July 1st.

The latest image from Justin Lin’s Fast & Furious. You know, for a franchise that has gotten worse and worse with each installment (and it didn’t exactly start high, either), I’m actually kind of looking forward to this one. Maybe it’s because Paul Walker and Vin Diesel are both in such different places in their careers than when they made the first one, but both of these actors have shown enough promise since to get me at least a little excited. Catch the trailer here and the film in theaters on April 3rd.

Russell Crowe and Ben Affleck in State of Play. I’ve been excited about this one since the script, so the stellar casting and trailer have only gotten me more hyped up since. This hits theaters April 19th.

Julia Roberts and Clive Owen in the Tony Gilroy-directed Duplicity. You can catch the trailer here and the film in theaters on March 20th.

Emma Roberts in family/tweenage-comedy Wild Child. Perfectly likeable in Nancy Drew, Roberts goes perfectly annoying as a rebellious Malibu princess who gets shipped off to an English boarding school when one of her pranks finally pushes Daddy over the edge. Check out the trailer (and a bizarre cameo from Nick Frost) at the official site. Wild Child hits theaters May 8th.

Although not a new image, I don’t think we’ve posted it on our site before, so here’s Benicio Del Toro, Emily Blunt, and Anthony Hopkins in Universal’s revival of The Wolf Man. Written by Se7en and Road to Perdition scribes Andrew Kevin Walker and David Self, respectively, and helmed by Joe Johnston (some of you may remember the tumultuous replacement of Mark Romanek), Del Toro is cast as the titular monster/hero in this period retelling. The Wolf Man appears in theaters on November 6th.

Here we have the first still from Judd Apatow’s next comedy, Funny People, with Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, Leslie Mann, and Eric Bana. Jonah Hill, Jason Schwartzman, RZA, and newcomer Aubrey Plaza round out the cast. The film follows Adam Sandler as a successful stand-up comedian who learns that he is dying of an untreatable blood disorder and decides to take an unseasoned but promising young comedian under his wing. See Funny People in theaters on July 31st.

Chris Massoglia and John C. Reilly in Paul Weitz’s Cirque Du Freak, which follows unassuming 14-year-old Darren (Massoglia) who joins a traveling freak show when vampire Larten Crepsley turns him into one of the bloodthirsty undead. Darren must learn to control his newfound powers as two warring factions of vampires try to make him their pawn in their struggle for domination. Cirque Du Freak also stars Ken Watanabe, Josh Hutcherson, Patrick Fugit, Ray Stevenson, Willem Dafoe, and Salma Hayek, and has yet to have a release date announced.

Danny McBride, Will Ferrell, and Anna Friel in Brad Silberling’s revamp of Land of the Lost. I like the players involved, but for some reason have yet to be super stoked about this project. Maybe after we see a trailer. Land of the Lost hits theaters June 5th.

Now here’s a project I AM excited about. Alison Lohman in Sam Raimi’s return to horror, Drag Me To Hell. Lohman stars as Christine Brown, an ambitious L.A. loan officer who, against her better judgement and in an attempt to impress her boss, denies the mysterious old Mrs. Ganush (Lorna Raver) an extension on her home loan and dispossesses her of her house. Mrs. Ganush casts a powerful curse on Christine that sets an evil spirit on her and makes her life a living hell. Seeking help from seer Rham Jas (Dileep Rao), Christine is given a set of tasks that she must complete in order to save her soul from eternal damnation. Drag Me To Hell, which also stars Justin Long as Christine’s skeptical boyfriend and David Paymer as her boss, opens on May 29th.

Finally, we have Matt Damon in Green Zone, which reunites him with The Bourne Supremacy and Bourne Ultimatum director Paul Greengrass. The film follows Damon as Chief Warrant Officer Roy Miller, who leads a team of Army Inspectors during the 2003 U.S.-led invasion of Baghdad to uncover alleged stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction. What they find instead is a deadly cover-up that forces them to question the legitimacy of not just their mission, but the entire ticking-time-bomb of a war. Jason Isaacs, Greg Kinnear, Amy Ryan, Brendan Gleeson, and Khalid Abdalla also star, and with a team like that, I can’t help but be stoked for when this’ll hit theaters. Green Zone has yet to have a release date announced.
