This actually hit the internet a few days ago in a lower-res format, but we’ve been waiting for the high-res HD version to be officially released before we posted it.
A new trailer has been unveiled for Louis Leterrier’s Clash of the Titans. We get more story this time around, with some actual speaking lines for Alexa Davlos’ Andromeda and Sam Worthington’s Perseus. Liam Neeson’s Zeus also gets in a few choice lines — and to great effect. The creature effects for the film really look stunning, and if you thought the first trailer was impressive, the appearance of the Kraken at the end of this one should have you wishing for more.
I’m really starting to get excited for this film. I love me a good adrenaline rush involving sword fights and monster battles. Greek mythology has always been a ripe realm for modern day special effects artists to run amok in, too, so I’m loving what I’m seeing. The new “Damn the Gods” tagline is also a big step up from the ho-hum “Titans will Clash.”
Check out the new trailer below, or in HD over at Apple.
Read»Apple has debuted the new one-sheet for Iron Man 2, featuring Mickey Rourke as the villain Whiplash. This comes on the heels of the poster last week that featured Iron Man and War Machine. Those of you eager to get your first look at some footage from the film can rest easy, as Film School Rejects is also reporting today that Paramount has officially confirmed that the Iron Man 2 trailer will be attached to Sherlock Holmes, which comes out Christmas Day. You can see the poster below, after the jump.
Meanwhile, Warner Bros. has been busy on the poster front as well, releasing three brand new ones for Louis Leterrier’s Clash of the Titans. The first two show off Sam Worthington as Perseus in a couple of his more well-known moments — brandishing the head of Medusa and riding the Pegasus. The third one is a somewhat lazily Photoshopped triptych showing off some key figures/moments from the film. Check out all three posters, courtesy of Yahoo! Movies, after the jump as well.
Read»Warner Bros. has released a teaser trailer for Louis Leterrier’s Clash of the Titans, a remake of the 1981 fan favorite. Gone are the low-rent but somewhat endearing effects you may remember — this is fully a modern day blockbuster.
Sam Worthington stars as Perseus in this retelling of the Greek myth, and the teaser pours plenty of sweeping action sequences on our eyeballs. CG effects and nasty creatures abound, and it looks like Leterrier’s really cranked up the level of epic-ness for this one. I know there are a lot of folks who love the original and may be turned off by what they see here, but really, how else were they going to remake a fantasy tale of this scale? I, for one, remain excited about this project. The creature design looks great and the general look of the film is quite impressive. I’m always up for some big budget swords ‘n sandals ass-kicking.

James Cameron may have promised as much, but while I think Avatar may certainly change the way we MAKE movies, it won’t be the catalyst in a monumental shift in how we WATCH movies. The notoriously ambitious director may have misspoke in that regard, because it’s practically impossible for one movie to do all that; if anything, these kinds of shifts happen over several years and through contributions from several filmmakers. Maybe ten years down the line we will be able to pinpoint Avatar as the “game-changer” it was heralded to be, but presently I doubt anyone, even a director of Cameron’s ability, could single-handedly spark such a dramatic paradigm shift within the art form with ONE movie, much less for two minutes of footage – which was only meant to tease, anyway – to live up to those aspirations.
Well, Cameron and the marketing folks over at Fox have come around this time with a full-length trailer (clocking in at just over 3 and a half minutes) that seeks to do nothing but reinforce what we should’ve been anticipating all this time: an immersive, action-packed, thrill-ride of a movie. Not something that may necessarily change the cinematic landscape, but something that looks like a DAMN good time at the theaters. The trailer is much more thorough in setting up the world and characters, and we get looks at some breathtaking set and action pieces that I’m sure will blow minds and burn retinas at theaters in December. I’m actually excited to see the movie this time around, and not just holding my breath waiting for some vague enlightenment that never comes.
