For the second straight weekend, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs dominated the box office.
Audiences asked for a second helping of the animated flick, with its $24.6 million haul easily taking first place. That brings Cloudy’s total to $60 million, a figure that the weekend’s new releases may struggle to see given their debut performance. Surrogates, the Bruce Willis sci-fi thriller based on Robert Venditti and Brett Weldele’s graphic novel, had a less-than-stellar 2nd place opening with $15 million.
